August Feast: Berry Cobbler

This berry cobbler combines three types of berries.  The cobbler can also be made with other types of berries, such as strawberries.  Top the warm cobbler with vanilla ice cream for a delicious after-dinner  treat.

Berry Cobbler

Ingredients:

Filling:

2 cups blueberries

2 cups blackberries

2 cups raspberries

¼ cup sugar

¼ cup flour

¼ tsp. cinnamon

Topping:

1 stick butter

1 cup oatmeal

½ cup brown sugar

½ cup flour

½ cup sugar

Directions:

Toss the berries with ¼ cup sugar, ¼ cup flour, and ¼ tsp. cinnamon. Spoon the berry mixture into a baking dish.

For the topping, mix 1 cup oatmeal, ½ cup brown sugar, ½ cup flour, and ½ cup sugar.  Cut in the butter with 2 knives or a pastry blender until well-blended.

Sprinkle the topping over the berries.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour.
