On this day in 2005, R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company made an announcement concerning the Piedmont Triad Research Park.
The company announced that they were donating an additional 16 acres in downtown Winston-Salem to the Piedmont Triad Research Park.
The park has been renamed the Wake Forest Innovation Quarter.
