On this date: January 28, 1928. Summit Street Pharmacy opened at 454 West End Boulevard, in the Mediterranean-style building at the foot of Summit Street. The top floor housed the Mary Elizabeth Apartments.
The pharmacy occupied the ground floor and featured a soda fountain that extended the length of the building. The close proximity to Reynolds High School made the pharmacy a popular spot for young people.
