The postcard shown above was sent to Winston-Salem from Farmington, Washington in 1907. The postcard is embossed and is in full color, still bright after all these years. It was mailed to “Mrs. Minnie Hege, Winston-Salem, N. C.” Apparently that was all the address needed to have the postcard reach the intended recipient.
Another postcard (shown above) was mailed to “Mrs. Alice W. Winkler, Winston-Salem, N. C.,” also from Farmington, Washington in 1907. Both postcards were printed in Germany, and carry 1-cent stamps.
As the postcard says, “Hurrah! For the Fourth of July. Hurrah!”
