Finding a Winston-Salem Landmark, Clue #2

Wiley statue

This monument (look over the car at left) was originally installed in 1904 on the corner of West Fourth and Broad Street.  The building at the right is West End Primary School, which faced Broad Street.

West End Graded School, which held the high school classes, was located around the corner and faced West Fourth Street.  When the West End School was demolished in 1947, the monument was moved to its current location.

See clue #3 tomorrow.
