On this date in 1927, members of the Clyde Bolling Post of the American Legion, in regular monthly session at the Zinzendorf Hotel, created a fund of $100, to be used for the relief of distressed ex-service men and the families of ex-service men residing in Winston-Salem.

Also, Commander William Graves announced that the post will present a silk North Carolina flag to the county, which will be placed directly behind the Superior Court judge’s chair when Superior Court opens in the new Forsyth County Courthouse.

The photograph shows the Clyde Bolling Post band, assembled for an Armistice Day parade in 1928.
