This sweetheart postcard was written to “Grandma,” who lived in Dobson, N. C. Grandma’s granddaughter or grandson sent this postcard in July 1909, from King, N. C. The name that was signed was just initials.
This is the message: “Hello Grandma. How are you these days. I am well and getting fat on strawberries. You aught to be down here. Write & come.”
Although the postcard was not mailed for Valentine’s Day, I imagine Grandma was happy to hear from her grandchild and to be invited to come and enjoy the strawberries also.
Happy Valentine’s Day from the Winston-Salem Time Traveler!
