This photo contains a lot of powerful men; they are school principals in Forsyth County. And, the Superintendent of the schools, T. Ray Gibbs, is present also. Superintendent Gibbs is seated at the desk, in the center of the five men who are seated.
Chancel Brown, one of the principals, identified most of the men, but some are unidentified. If you can add a name to the list, or complete the name, please comment and give the name and the location of the person in the photograph. Also, if you think any of the names are incorrect, please comment on that as well. These are the names that were written on a sheet accompanying the photo.
The photograph was made in the school’s administrative offices which were located in the old silo at Reynolda Village. This may have been before the consolidation of the city and county schools, so the principals may have been only Forsyth County principals.

Grady Stone was the first principal of Wesley B. Speas Elementary School, which opened in the fall of 1959.
I went to school there 1972-76, first through fourth grade. We had a song about Mr. Stone paddling students. He was scary to us kids, but my parents said he was a big softy.
Middle row, #7 is Verlin Hutchinson who was principal at Union Cross Elementary School
Thank you for adding this principal’s name to the photo.

Middle row #5 is W. Frank Morgan. Upon his return from WW II, he began teaching at Clemmons School when it was the only school in the small community and was then comprised of all 12 grades. In 1965 he became Principal of Clemmons School which became Clemmons Elementary as it changed to grades K-6. Mr. Morgan was a Principal for 25 years. When the new school opened in 2011, the WSFCS system honored Mr. Morgan by naming the school for him. Mr. Morgan passed away in 2017. He will always be thought of highly in my family He was “our” Principal.
Thank you for providing the identification and additional information about Mr. Morgan.
Frank Morgan was my uncle. He dearly loved Clemons Elementary and it’s students.
