This is a view of the 400 block of North Cherry Street in 1963. This group of buildings was across the street from the bus station and the Robert E. Lee Hotel.
In addition to the men’s clothing store, Norman Stockton, the other businesses in the block are Little Pep Grill, American Finance, Ambassador Hotel (located above Norman Stockton), and Ader’s Beauty Salon.
There was a parking lot beside the Little Pep, where the small square building is located.
Today, there is a pass-through alley beside the Norman Stockton building. And the Marriott Hotel is located on the site of the parking lot.
Across the street, the bus station and the Robert E. Lee Hotel are gone, replaced by a parking garage and Embassy Suites.
