There’s a new restaurant on South Stratford Road that occupies the former Five Points Restaurant. Little Richard’s Smokehouse Bar ‘N’ Que Restaurant opened on Tuesday, August 6th.
Many people are familiar with other Little Richard’s Restaurants that are located in Clemmons, Yadkinville, Walkertown, and Mt. Airy. The new Bar ‘N’ Que Restaurant is larger than the other restaurants. There is a private dining room and a large bar, plus a sunroom, and a patio. Also, the menu is expanded with many smoked meat dishes, and it also includes signature cocktails and more salads.
The restaurant is very colorful, with sensory-engaging lights and signs on the walls at many levels.
The restaurant is a complete renovation from the Five Points restaurant. Seating is a mix of tables and booths.
There is a separate area near the entrance for placing and paying for take-out orders. Table service patrons place their orders and pay for them at the table. Servers take orders and payments on electronic devices.
While waiting for food orders to arrive, patrons keep busy looking at all of the interesting pig, barbecue, advertising, and local memorabilia.
There are many framed prints that feature historical photographs of local businesses and landmarks. The images came from the Forsyth County Public Library Photograph Collection.
Some of the images show the area of Stratford Road where Little Richard’s new restaurant is now located. This part of Stratford Road housed the Farmer’s Dairy Bar, Mayberry’s, and Lucky 32. Other photos show the area around and including the Thruway Shopping Center. And other photos that feature Piedmont Airlines are hanging in the private dining room.
An article in the Winston-Salem Journal on August 6th went into detail about the menu. The online version of the article has many photos of the various dishes that are listed in the menu.
