Jennifer Anne Ehle was born on this day in 1969, in Winston-Salem, to John Ehle and Rosemary Harris.
Jennifer attended several schools in her youth, some in the United States and others in the United Kingdom. She attended the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem for her drama training, as well as a school in London.
Jennifer made her West End theatrical debut in 1991, in a production of Tartuffe. She joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1995. She won two Tony Awards for her work on Broadway, and has appeared in supporting roles in several films, including The King’s Speech (2010).
Jennifer is best known for her role as Elizabeth Bennet in the 1995 miniseries, Pride and Prejudice. She won the BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress.
Jennifer is married to Michael Ryan and they have two children.
