Thomas Foster Hill Jr. was born on this day in 1889, in South Carolina, to Thomas Foster Sr. and Ottie Latimer Hill.
Thomas was a graduate of Wofford College. He joined Duke Power after he graduated, and worked for Duke Power for 45 years, retiring in 1959.
Thomas was the manager of Duke Power’s Winston-Salem office from 1933 to 1948. He was promoted to vice president of Duke Power in 1948, and became a supervisor of branches in 1950. He was elected a trustee of the Duke Endowment in 1955.
Thomas was credited with having a large part in the growth of Duke Power during his 45 years of employment.
He was married to Marie Seybt Hill, and he passed away in 1970.
