A new multi-story office building was announced on this day in 2012. It was planned for the northeast corner of Broad and Fourth Streets.
The announcement said that the new building would be 51,803-square-feet and construction was planned to begin in March 2013.
The lot was previously occupied by private homes, then by the Christian Church and later by Modern Chevrolet Truck Division. The photo above shows the Modern Chevrolet truck lot in 1963.
The completed building is shown in the top photo. An open house took place for the new building in October 2014. One of the first occupants was the Winston-Salem Foundation.
