Annie Becker Hege was born on this day in 1906, in South Carolina, to August Ferdinand and Catherine Handrich Becker.
She moved to Winston-Salem in 1922 and attended business school. She worked in the secretary’s department at R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company for 20 years.
Annie married Oscar F. Hege Jr., whom she met at R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. They were married for 53 years.
She was an active member of Calvary Moravian Church, and was a charter member of Pine Needles Garden Club.
She also worked for a local attorney in later years, after raising her three sons.
Annie passed away in 1995.
