Betty McCall Smith was born on this day in 1927, in Forsyth County, to William and Therese Cooke McCall.
Betty graduated from R. J. Reynolds High School and Randolph Macon College.
She worked in St. Petersburg, Florida after graduation, then returned to Winston-Salem and worked at Bowman Gray School of Medicine.
She was married to H. Kenneth Smith in 1952.
Betty was the owner of McCall’s Art Linen Shop in Reynolda Village. The business was established by her father.
She was a member of Centenary Methodist Church and sang in the choir for 30 years.
Betty passed away in 2013.
