School children found out on this day in 1937 that they may soon be riding in one of the new all-steel school buses received recently in Forsyth County, as shown in the photo above.
Fifty of the new buses were ordered for North Carolina schools.
The new buses will accommodate 36 children in 18 double seats.
The new buses will replace the older buses that were previously used, as shown below.
The bus shown directly above is a wooden bus that was also in use in 1937.
