On this day in 1938, the Kate Bitting Reynolds Memorial Hospital was dedicated.
$115,000 was given by William Neal Reynolds for the hospital, and was named for his wife, Kate Bitting Reynolds. The hospital contained 100 beds. Mr. Reynolds later donated funds for additions and repairs to the hospital.
A historic marker was unveiled in 2012 at the site of the hospital at the intersection of North Cleveland and East Seventh Street.
