Mary Eleanor Fries Blair was born on this day in 1873, in Salem, to John William and Agnes de Schweinitz Fries.
She graduated from Salem Academy and Salem College, and did graduate work at Salem College. She also studied art in Florence, Italy.
Mary was married to Colonel William A. Blair in 1895. She lived all her life in Salem, and passed away in 1966.
Mary is shown in the above photo in 1955, at the opening of the John Vogler Museum House in Old Salem. She was a direct descendant of John Vogler.
