Clifford Hinshaw Peace was born on this day in 1909, in Glenola, to June and Bessie Hinshaw Peace.
He received his A. B. degree from High Point College and his B. D. degree from Duke University in 1936. He received an honorary doctor of divinity degree from High Point College in 1961.
Clifford served as a chaplain with the U. S. Army Air Corps for four years.
He came to Winston-Salem in 1949 and worked as a counselor at R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. He wrote many articles on counseling, particularly counseling in industry for medical, theological and industrial publications.
Clifford held several positions in local organizations, such as chairman of the City Memorial Hospital Nursing Committee, and director of the Child Guidance Clinic.
He was married to Frances Gray Loftin.
Rev. Peace passed away in 1966.
