Clemens Harold Sandresky was born on this day in 1916, in Buffalo, New York. He was educated at Dartmouth College and earned his M. A. degree in Music from Harvard University.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
After the war, he worked as organist and choir director in Asheville. He became Dean of the School of Music at Salem Academy and College in 1952, and retired from this position in 1986.
While he was dean at Salem Academy and College, he made many piano musical performances in conjunction with the school and with the Winston-Salem Symphony. He taught students and provided guidance to them to advance their careers.
He was married to Margaret Vardell Sandresky, also a musician and a teacher at Salem College.
Mr. Sandresky passed away in 2009.
