On this day in 1998, the Reynolda Manor Branch Library was dedicated at its new location on Fairlawn Drive.
The branch library occupied a former movie theatre, Reynolda Cinema, that was refurbished to become a library. This library had several feature that were unique, such as an expansive auditorium and taller than usual ceilings.
The former branch library was built in 1964 and was located just up the street, but the building was too small for the growing materials collection and for the number of library patrons.
The former library building was later used for library offices and outreach.
