Grover Franklin Shugart Sr. was born on this day in 1920 in Forsyth County.
He was a prominent local businessman, who owned and operated Grover Shugart Motors for over 40 years.
Grover served as Forsyth County Commissioner from 1966 to 1970. During his term of service, he was instrumental in the development of the county’s water system.
Grover was an active member of the Knights of Pythias, and served as both Treasurer and Chancellor.
He was also an active member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Grover passed away in 1999.
