Selected Dairies was incorporated by T. Holt Haywood, owner of Arden Farms; Thurmond Chatham, owner of Klondike Farms; and John C. Whitaker, owner of Whit-Acres Farm.
The business was established to handle the dairy products from these farms and at least three others.
Selected Dairies was opened on this date in 1938 on South Stratford Road in a building designed by a national dairy architect in the most modern style.
The site of Selected Dairies is where the Thruway Shopping Center is located today, approximately near the strip of businesses that include Chico’s.
