Curious onlookers viewing from Interstate 40 the construction underway near Knollwood Street, could only speculate about what was being built in the far end parking lot at Thruway Shopping Center. Finally the building took shape, and signs announced that a Chick-Fil-A restaurant would soon open.
On this date in 2006, the Chick-Fil-A restaurant opened, finally satisfying the curiosity of onlookers, and becoming a very popular eatery for their tasty chicken sandwiches and their excellent iced tea.
